We are ALL Thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are a very thankful bunch in KL. I introduced the kids to "The Thankful Tree", which has been in our classroom for the month of November. Every day, the kids think of something that they are thankful for and draw a picture on a small "leaf". They add their thankful leaves to the tree every day....sometimes twice a day!

Did you LOVE your life size turkey as much as I did? Although we were so tired from all the cutting and gluing, we were all THRILLED with how awesome our turkeys came out! Enjoy them as your large Thanksgiving centerpiece for the table ;)

What's up with math?

We have been super busy with math! We have been learning all kinds of new things.
We explored with a 10 frame and different colored beans. One side was white, the other side had dots on it. We shook the beans in a cup and dumped them out. We found that every time we dropped the beans, there were different combinations of 10. Take a look below at what we found as a group....

We also have learned more shapes. We made the shapes out of our bodies! This was so fun for everyone :)

Then, we explored with geo-boards!

How many ways can you show the number 4?...
We found eight DIFFERENT ways to show a number!

...The kindies have also been exploring with "length" and "estimating length" to see which objects are shorter or longer than a thick marker. We showed our results in a T chart.

...We love the "spin a number" game! Whichever number our clip landed on, we moved our chip that many spaces. To take this activity a step further, each time a kiddo "beat the game", they cheered "OH YA!" and made a tally mark on a post it.

Down on the Farm!

The blog is finally up and running again!!!! Yay! Did you miss us?
We have been learning all about the Farm for the month of November. What animals live on the farm? What kinds of food comes from the farm? What are the roles of farmers? Take a look at what we learned....

Which farm animal do you like the best?
